Little Fires and a Flotilla

I recently realized that I’m currently personally and directly involved with approx 10-12 Simple Communities

Some of these communities meet in homes, some in pubs, and one even meets in an old Anglican Church building

We recently prayed for the sending out/birthing of at least a further 3 new Simple Communities of disciples…

Exciting times!

Little Fires

As I travel across my region to spend time with disciples involved in such communities, we take time to listen to Jesus together. More than once, in various locations, and amongst different groups, I’ve heard the prophetic word concerning ‘Little Fires’

For example, in one new church plant in South Yorkshire, one of the leaders said he’d had a dream or vision of ‘A Map of Britain, and the map was pitch black, then there were little fires appearing – starting in the North East and igniting down to the South West. And wherever these fires were set ablaze, the map of Britain was turning green in their wake…’

In another area of Nottingham, one of the disciples in a house gathering said; ‘I’m seeing little fires spreading all over the area’

We were at a conference with a well-known evangelist and he made this statement;

‘The Church is not called to be a Cruise Ship but a Battle Ship’

But my friend and coworker Lee commented; ‘Not a Battle Ship but a Flotilla…’

Have you seen the film ‘Dunkirk?’

A Flotilla (from Spanish, meaning a small fleet of ships), or naval flotilla, is a formation of small warships that may be part of a larger fleet.

‘The Dunkirk evacuation, code-named ‘Operation Dynamo’ and also known as the ‘Miracle of Dunkirk’, was the evacuation of Allied Soldiers during the Second World War from the beaches and harbour of Dunkirk. On the first day only 7,699 Allied Soldiers were evacuated, but by the end of the 8th day, 338,226 had been rescued by a hastily assembled fleet of over 800 vessels. Some were ferried to the larger ships by what became known as the Little Ships of Dunkirk; a flotilla of hundreds of Merchant Marine boats, fishing boats, pleasure crafts, yachts, and lifeboats called into service from Britain’ (see here for more info)

Emerging from the Fog

This vision of Little Fires becoming a Flotilla comes on the back of The Great Wave prophetic word (see here)

As we collectively emerge from the fog of Corona & Lockdown and now the Rumours and Actuality of War in various places (Ukraine/Russia War at time of writing), and Shaking that is currently going on in the Church…

We will come through like an Armada; as a Flotilla to overcome the plans of the enemy…

This promise from the Ancient Prophet Isaiah will come into view;

'All your people will be righteous.
They will possess their land forever,
For I will plant them there with my own hands
In order to bring myself glory...

The smallest family will become a thousand people,
and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation.

At the right time, I, the LORD, will make it happen'

-Isaiah 60:21-22

As my prophetic friend Nigel Sykes says, ‘Every ship in the fog will be listening to God and come out, all listening to the Commanding Chief [see prophetic word on ‘Murmuration’]…

They shouldn’t in the process of emerging from the fog, try to become “One Big Ship…”

Be careful that when the ships see each other coming out of the fog that they don’t just become one great huddle under one name with someone in charge…

They should each stay their course.’

Plants Springing up Everywhere

As we see Little Fires becoming a Flotilla across Britain and Europe, this promise of scripture will be fulfilled in our generation!

'The Sovereign LORD will show his justice to the nations of the world.
Everyone will praise him!
His righteousness will be like a garden in early spring,
with plants springing up everywhere'

-Isaiah 61:11

Do you resonate with these prophetic words and this vision of the future of the Church across Britain and Europe?

If so, please do get in touch!

I think you put it well,

Just to note that the differing size, and speed and purpose of the vehicles may reflect the differing natures and re-purposing of buildings being used for church communities

    Fishing vessels
    Private vessels

    May be
    Business premises
    Coffee houses

Also is got a sense of mighty ships that had been torpedoed leaving debris to which people clung….and lifeboats (some where crew from sunken ships were now in command)

    1. Peter J. Farmer

      Great insights here Lee…
The larger ships that have been torpedoed reminds me of the image of the apostle Paul and crew who were shipwrecked on the island of Malta in Acts 27…

The ship was completely torn apart by the storm, but all the passengers were saved – presumably floating in on parts of the wrecked ship…

We are not to cling to the old wreckage for long though…

Or long to go back where we’ve sailed from…

Once we arrive on the shore, we are to wait for God to show us the Promise Land that lies ahead…

The new mission in the newfoundland…

And what worked before, may not work in this new strange place we find ourselves in…

Last week, City Prayer invited Nic Harding to talk to a group of Church and Ministry leaders from various streams in Nottingham. He talked about “gospel saturation” and the great need for multiplying churches. He said that we need lots of small new churches that are …
    – NOT Building based
    – NOT Clergy led
    – NOT Sunday-centric

Love it … excited to watch this develop!

It’s great that this message of smaller multiplying movements of church, has spread to church leaders throughout the city of Nottingham…

We are indeed in a Third Reformation of the Church which is about ‘structure’ and putting disciple making and church planting back into the hands of ordinary people and multiplying across ordinary (non-religious) spaces…

‘This is my Body broken for you’

Yes Peter, it does resonate. At warrior class I had a picture of Jesus standing on the water, radiant and shining. Lots of little boats were gathering around Him, with their focus on Him only! Small and varying numbers of people in the boats.
Also, if you remember the opening ceremony for the UK Olympics, there was a big metal ‘flower’ and around it lots of individual petals on fire . That spoke to me of Jean Darnell’s prophecy re little fires across the UK. No more big names! Only the Name of Jesus…

Also the 1947 Prophecy from Smith Wigglesworth…

Before Smith Wigglesworth died he gave this prophecy…

During the next few decades there will be two distinct moves of the Holy Spirit across the church in Great Britain.

The First Move will affect every church that is
open to receive it, and will be characterised by the restoration of the baptism and gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The Second Move of the Holy Spirit will result in people leaving historic churches and planting new churches.

In the duration of each of these moves,
the people who are involved will say, ‘This is a great revival.’ But the Lord says,
‘No, neither is this the great revival but both are steps towards it.’

When the new church phase is on the wane, there will be evidence in the churches of something that has not been seen before: a coming together of those with an emphasis on the word and those with an emphasis on the Spirit.

When the word and the Spirit come together, there will be the biggest move of the Holy Spirit that the nations, and indeed, the world have ever seen.

It will mark the beginning of a revival that will eclipse anything that has been witnessed within these shores, even the Wesleyan and Welsh revivals of former years.

The outpouring of God’s Spirit will flow over from the United Kingdom to mainland Europe, and from there, will begin a missionary move to the ends of the earth.

        [‘The Last Move’ – 1947]

Has this prophetic word already been fulfilled?

Or is it yet to come?

Jean Darnell 1967 Prophecy for Church in Britain…

The British Isles were covered in mist (a green haze), and Jean Darnell saw lots of pinpoints of light piercing through. As she looked, they turned out to be fires breaking out all over the nation, from Scotland in the North, to Lands End in the South.

As these God-lit fires were joined together they burned brighter. As she continued to pray, she saw lightning and explosions of fire and then rivers of fire flowing from North to South; from Scotland, Ireland, and Wales into England and some of the streams of fires crossed the channel into Europe, whilst others stopped.

These fires were pockets of people who had been made intensely hungry for the word of God and for New Testament Christianity, those who read the book of Acts and wondered ‘where is this church?’

These people would come together to pray and extra meetings would have to be laid on to accommodate all the people. Groups would be formed, prayer groups, Bible study groups – some would meet in churches, others would be in homes: some converted, others unconverted who were searching and seeking.

    Two Moves Of God

Jean Darnall asked the Lord about the vision and had the distinct impression that there would be two moves of God.

    1. Renewal In The Church

The first would be the renewal of Christian faith and fullness of the Holy Spirit within the church.

    2. National Awakening And World Vision

This renewal of life in the church would spread outside resulting in a public awakening. The second part of the vision was the lightning striking around the nation. This move of God would be a national spiritual awakening, which would move into every level of the nation’s life; on the campuses, universities, colleges, schools etc., into the media and in the government.

There would be so many conversions that it would actually change the character of the nation of Britain and determine the future move of God in Europe. Jean continued that there would not be a part of the nation’s life that will not feel the impact of the spiritual awakening when God releases it to the country.

    Great Preachers

The Lord told Jean Darnall that He would also raise up highly anointed preachers who would move in signs and wonders. These people would be a gift to Britain.

    Communicators Reaching Britain And Europe

The word ‘communicators’ was strongly laid upon Jean’s heart and was a word that was not trendy in those days. [The internet was not be birthed until nearly three decades later in 1994 and Christian television first came to Britain via satellite in October 1995].

Jean explained that as the rivers of fire moved, it would produce powerfully gifted communicators who would address the nation through the media, (Through the arts, journalism, the radio and television). Actors, singers, teachers and powerful communicators (who have an anointing to work through the media) will be the new warriors that the Lord is raising up for His army [the younger generation] to reach the heart of the people on the European Continent. People with a special anointing will be sent out from these islands (of Britain) to other nations.

These communicators will be excellent in all that they do and will go into Europe and meet those of like quality (in training and abilities) and together they will work to release God’s word speedily into Europe. This will result in another wave of a spiritual awakening into Europe. Also, there would be communicators in government and within the educational system and wherever people are speaking [up] for others.

    Jean Darnall

The vision of 1967 came at the time of the early Charismatic renewals within the UK.
